The Scent Of Celebrity

This isn't just a perfume, this is a celebrity perfume.

If I had to adorn my body with the 'essence' of any A-lister, Eva Longoria Parker would be pretty high on the list. The pint-sized Latino actress is the latest famous face to put their name to a fragrance, and the result is anything but desperate. Not too sweet and not too woody, the focus of this perfume is to ooze sensuous appeal in the cleanest and freshest of ways – and it does. With a cocktail of Citrus, Verbena and Neroli this scent packs a serious zesty punch.
And let's not forget about the bottle, folks. Elegant and curvy, just like the lady herself, you'll see no cheap bling (I'm talking to you J-Lo) or clashing two-tone glass (take note Britney) from Ms Longoria. A lovely summer scent with enough depth to take you through into autumn, Eva has proven herself as good a perfumer as she is a red carpet goddess.

Try this celebrity scent for yourself at The Perfume Shop – from £27.50 for 50ml EDT.

The Hills Aren't So Alive Any More

After what seemed like years of avoiding the hype of US reality TV series The Hills - its predecessor Laguna Beach having kindly passed me by - I finally succumbed to its charms last year. And boy have I been hooked to its vacuous drama ever since. So it was with a heavy heart that I bid the 6th, and final, season farewell.

Though at least I can say I saw it off in true Hills style.
Arm in arm with my fellow showbiz journo Rebecca I headed to London's Haymarket Hotel for a MTV Hills Finale pool party with none other than Audrina Patridge herself. I've been to the Haymarket Hotel before to interview other famous faces - it's obviously a popular choice for US celebs when staying in the Big Smoke - but this was my first time there as a guest. And for a guest list party at that.
It wasn't difficult to spot Audrina. She was without doubt the tiniest girl there and constantly flanked by PRs for MTV in a bid to hoard off the overexcited fans (read TV journalists and MTV staffers).

With a never ending supply of 'Click Flash' cocktails on tap, designed exclusively by celebrity mixologist Jamie Stephenson for 1870, which are apparently a favourite of LC, Audrina and Co plus a brilliant display of sychronized swimming in the Haymarket pool and ice sculptures galore, it really was a celeb-tastic way to toast the Hills finale.

Ladies, you and your antics will be sorely missed.

Let's start at the very beginning...

So. Here I am. Blogging.

I've come to the (very rapid) conclusion that no-one is interested in reading about my daily life. And yet millions - make that billions - of £££s are made by companies who employ people like me to spread the word about what celebrities get up to. And hence the subject matter of this very blog. I, on behalf of you dear reader, shall be tracking down the latest beauty treatments, fashion gems, city hotspots etc etc that are making the ears of the showbiz industry prick up with interest.

A sneak peek into the celebrity world on a journalist's budget, if you will.

So go on, come join me. You know you want to...
